Vudu & Dampeners

dynamic string dampener

twang
get the twang out

In 1997, Saunders invented the industry’s first bowstring dampener, The Deadly-Quiet™. This dampener used a patented shock piston to absorb excess string energy, helping the arrow leave the string faster and increasing arrow speed while keeping the string path aligned. This design, along with copies made by other manufacturers, suffers from repeated string slaps, as seen in dramatic videos of these oscillations.

The Vudu™ bow string dampener avoids multiple string slaps by trapping the string in a patented recoil chamber. It effectively eliminates multiple strikes and limb shock better than other string dampeners. Several optional parts are available to provide the Vudu™ bow string silencer with more mounting potential. Made in the USA.

independently
tested, outstanding results

Here are two independent test videos: the first is by Stephen Thatcher, and the second is by Northeast Outdoors—two things to remember. The first is that both models, Vudu-X and Vudu, use the same piston and piston receiver design, so both models test identically. The difference is only which design is easier for you to mount. The second point is that when measuring sound, 5 decibels equals a reduction of 68% of the amount of sound energy being transmitted, and a difference of 6 decibels equals a decrease of 75% of the sound energy. The bottom line is that each decibel drop in sound is a massive noise reduction that a bow broadcasts.
