Combo® Points
before
combo points
Combo screw-in points were developed by Saunders in 1990. It was a time when compound bows were in their infancy, and arrow speeds were increasing as cam and limb designs tested this new frontier. Along with greater speed, mat wear reared its ugly head. Bullet, field, and target points tear up foam targets, so we needed something to reduce mat wear. Made in the USA.
linage
combo heritage
Gene and Tom Saunders developed the Combo screw-in point to reduce mat wear using two entry stages. The tip of the point is the first entry stage, and its small size generates enough wake to start opening the mat, while the second stage gives just enough boost to finish the opening process, allowing friction along the arrow shaft to bring the arrow to a stop. This two-stage design minimizes wear and drag during flight. “3-D and foam target manufacturers endorse Combo™ points.” The choice of professional shooters worldwide. 12 /pk
options
fine tuned
Combo screw-in points come in dozens of sizes and weight options. For those of you who don’t see what you want or if you are a professional shooter, see our Combo Custom points for the ultimate in tuning options. Just one more example of how Saunders puts the archer in first place.”Bullet, field, and target points tear up foam targets, creating a need to reduce mat wear.”
stiction
friction generates heat
Arrows sticking in target mats is no new problem. It has been increasing, just like arrow speeds. There are many variables, and point design is just one of them. We recommend Combo Bulge points and lubricating your arrow with vuLube lubricant to reduce or eliminate arrows sticking in mats. For removal, the best technique is to gently wiggle and pull evenly, avoiding sharp, jerky motions. Using vu-Lube can significantly help prevent sticking, regardless of the point design. In addition to this key benefit, it’s worth noting that this product also has multiple uses across various applications. “Besides archery, you can use it at home and in the shop.”
