VUDU™

deadening
the dynamic solution
Saunders invented the industry’s first string dampener in 1997…The Deadly-Quiet™. This first design used a dynamic shock piston to dampen the bowstring. This design absorbed excess string energy, helped get the arrow off the string faster to increase arrow speed, and kept the string path aligned. Many companies followed, but these systems suffered from repeated string slaps. You have probably seen dramatic videos of these oscillations. This high-speed video equipment helped us realize a new dampener design was needed. A dampening that captures the string and prevents it from bouncing off the dampener. The solution came with developing the next generation of string dampeners, the Vudu string dampener. Naturally, Saunders was about to retake the lead.
next
generation of dynamic dampeners
The Vudu string dampener is a new generation of string dampener. The Vudu traps the string in a recoil chamber, eliminating multiple strikes and dramatically reducing limb shock more effectively than other string dampeners. Several mounting options are available to give the Vudu™ bow string silencer even more mounting punch. Made in the USA.
Note: The slow-motion video of the Vudu™ features test parts before the mold surface dulled.
piston
easy replacement
The Vudu™ recoil replacement pistons are identical for both Vudu-X & Vudu models. They snap in and out in a second and come in three or twelve piston sets. Extra silicone grease is included to extend the piston’s life and maintain its free operation in its receiver. The Incorporation of replaceable dampening pistons into the Vudu™ and Vudu-X™ systems exemplifies our commitment to innovation and user-centric design, providing archers with a reliable and maintainable solution for string vibration dampening.
independently
tested, outstanding results
Here are two independent test videos of the Vudu string dampener: the first is by Stephen Thatcher, and the second is by Northeast Outdoors—two things to remember. The first is that both models, Vudu-X and Vudu, use the same piston and piston receiver design, so both models test identically. The difference is only which design is easier for you to mount. When measuring sound, a reduction of 5 decibels decreases the amount of sound energy being transmitted by 68%, while a difference of 6 decibels reduces the sound energy by 75%.
