Many traditional archers want to shoot classic glue-on broadheads on modern aluminum or carbon shafts. The reasons are simple. One wants to keep as close to the classic broadhead as possible while gaining the accuracy of a modern shaft. The bottom line is a clean kill. Our precision-machined traditional broadhead adapters allow the old traditional style glue-on broadheads to attach to many modern shafts. We recommend Hunt-Bond hot melt cement to secure the traditional broadheads to the adapter. Hunt-Bond allows the center alignment of the broadhead, which is necessary for the true flight of the arrow.

By the mid-1940s, archers introduced five-degree taper arrowheads. The five-degree broadhead, manufactured by Black Diamond and others, became the standard, and manufacturers tapered wooden shafts to fit these broadheads. This also required a field point to fit the five-degree tapered shaft.
