whisker
bowstring dampener

The Whisper Whiskers bowstring dampener is proven to reduce bow noise by dampening string and cables and, in some cases, producing faster bow speeds. Durable, waterproof rubber whiskers deliver essential silencing action without balling up or collecting leaves and burrs. Ideal for wet conditions, tangle-free and lightweight. These archery bow string dampeners are easy to use: tie the two strips around your bowstring or cable, and within a few shots, the strips will separate into numerous strands. Alternatively, you can cut the ends of each strip with scissors, and the strips will be separated into strands. Made in the USA.

all
weather dampener

Whisper Whiskers remain flexible in cold and wet conditions, unlike other dampeners that can retain water. This keeps their effect on the bow consistent regardless of the weather.

ultra
lightweight dampener

They add very little weight compared to other string-mounted dampeners. Their low mass preserves arrow speed and bow tune. Both two pieces of the set weigh only 64.1 grains.

easy
to install or replace

Tie or serve them onto the bowstring or cables at the recommended 6–8 inches from the cams. No tools, adhesives, or bow press are required—tie and go. Whisper Whiskers bowstring dampener strands are also easy on your pocketbook, which is good news since we should carry an extra set on the next hunt.

proven
over time

Whisper Whiskers, invented in the early 1980s, are still popular for bow dampening. This is because of their simple, lightweight, yet effective design. With decades of field use, many seasoned hunters trust their consistent and reliable performance. They work on all bow types, making them very versatile. In a world of high-tech solutions, these humble little whiskers remain one of the best tools for silencing your shot.

independently
tested, outstanding results

If you are shooting a compound and need maximum deadening, look at the Vudu-X dampener. Here are two independent test videos: the first is by Stephen Thatcher, and the second is by Northeast Outdoors—two things to remember. The first is that both models, Vudu-X and Vudu, use the same piston and piston receiver design, so both models test identically. The difference is only which design is easier for you to mount. The second point is that when measuring sound, 5 decibels equals a reduction of 68% of the amount of sound energy being transmitted, and a difference of 6 decibels equals a decrease of 75% of the sound energy. The bottom line is that each decibel drop in sound is a massive noise reduction that a bow broadcasts.
