Endurance tubular sleeves are a simple but effective way to increase band life. They do so by reducing the wear at the connection point at the end of the slingshot prongs. Power tube wear is often focused at the flex point at the prong ends. This happens as the tube flexes over the prong-ends during the firing cycle. By centering the endurance sleeves over this area, the sleeves widen the flex zone, extending the tubular band’s life. Be sure to add a set with every replacement tubular band order. We don’t like to admit it, but everyone occasionally will get a wild shot. It is bad enough that you missed the target, but in some cases, the wild shot hits the fork ends, damaging the power bands. Endurance tubular sleeves are like an insurance policy for these mishaps, giving your band ends an extra layer of protection.

Besides the wear caused by the tubes folding over the slingshots’ prong ends, tubular bands can sometimes experience scuffing. The great thing about scuffing is that you can see the area on the bands that have contacted something. In these areas, rub on a small amount of vu-Lube and then pay attention to how many shots will be needed before reapplying.
