Let’s face it: wild shots happen. You can be an expert and have thousands of hours shooting when you have a wild shot. You’re stumped. Your form was good, your bands were not twisted, and the ammo was centered in your pouch, yet you missed the target. Welcome to the world of slingshots.

If the shot was wild enough, it might have hit the slingshot’s forks or even your hand. I could be one out of ten thousand for an experienced shooter, but if you get the golden BB, you don’t want it to hit your hand. This is why we always wear safety glasses when shooting and why, when possible, we build guards into our designs. No other company does this, but we think it is worth it. The great thing about many of our wireframe wrist-braced slingshots is that they were designed for the Color Guard shot shield. The shield was made to be replaceable since that nasty wild shot hit at point-blank range. It’s great if you want to replace it because you like the colors, but we believe you should never shoot without the guard in place.

Both the Color Guard and Gems are made from impact-resistant polycarbonate. This material makes the Gems virtually indestructible, and though Guards occasionally crack from a direct impact, consider how it saved your hand from that same hit. We emphasize the importance of keeping your Color Guards in perfect condition and appropriately mounted high on the bail. Both Guards and Gems are maintenance-free. Please always wear safety glasses for all shooting sports.
